Yes, the SaveFamily app is designed so that multiple family members can manage and monitor the same watch from their own mobile phones. This allows, for example, both parents and grandparents to stay informed and in touch from their devices.
How to Share Access to the Watch?
For a second person (e.g., another family member) to view and manage a watch that is already set up, they must follow these steps:
Step 1: Download and Registration of the New User
- The second person must download the SaveFamily app on their phone from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
- They must create a new account using their own email address and a personal password.
Step 2: Request Access to the Watch
- In the app, the new user taps "Add Device".
- Scan the QR code of the watch. This code can be found:
Physically: Attached to the buckle of the strap, secured with a zip tie and a cardboard holder.
Digitally: In the watch's own menu, by finding the QR code icon.
Step 3: Approval by the Primary Administrator
- When the code is scanned, the system will identify that the watch is already linked to another account (the primary user's).
- A linking request will automatically be sent to the primary user.
- The primary user receives a notification or alert in their SaveFamily app. They must accept or authorize this request to grant access to the new user as a "family member".
What Can Each User Do?
Once the request is approved, both users will have access to the watch, but with some different levels of control:
- Shared Access (for both users):
- View the watch's real-time location on the map.
- Communicate (calls, messages if the model allows it).
- Receive alerts and notifications (SOS, entry/exit from safe zones).
- Functions exclusive to the Primary Administrator:
- Approve or reject requests for new family members.
- Manage key administrative settings (such as resetting the device or removing linked users).
Process Summary
- Second user: Downloads the app > Creates an account > Scans the QR code.
- Primary user: Receives and approves the linking request.
- Done: Both access the watch from their accounts.
