If the watch doesn't turn on or seems not to charge, don't worry. It's often resolved with a thorough cleaning and by following the charging process step-by-step. We'll explain it to you.
First Step: A Thorough Clean
First, let's make sure the contact is perfect.
- Clean the Terminals: Gently rub the small metal charging contacts on the back of the watch with a cotton swab and a little isopropyl alcohol (or, failing that, a dry, clean cloth). Dust or lint can sometimes cover them.
- Dry Them Well: Make sure there is no trace of moisture before connecting the charger.
- Check the Cable: Ensure the charging cable is not bent, broken, or chewed (kids!). The pins should be clean and straight.
The Charging Process, Step by Step
If it still doesn't charge after cleaning everything, follow this ritual in detail. The order is important.
Step 1: Turn it Off Completely
If the screen shows anything, even an empty battery, hold down the side button until it turns off completely. There should be no light left.
Step 2: Place it Face Down
Place the watch on a table, with the screen facing down and the charging terminals pointing upwards. This way, the magnets in the cable will make better contact through their own weight.
Step 3: Connect Carefully
Connect the charger, making sure the cable's pins fit perfectly onto the watch's terminals. You should feel a gentle magnetic "click."
Step 4: The Forced Restart (Key Step)
Once connected to power, hold down the power button for 40 consecutive seconds. Yes, count to 40. This helps to "unjam" the battery if it has been completely drained.
Step 5: Patience and a Full Charge
Let it charge without touching it for 4 to 5 consecutive hours, even if the screen doesn't light up immediately. A completely depleted battery needs this time to recover a minimum amount of energy to be able to start.
After the Process: Check the Results
After that time:
- Does it work? If the watch turns on, great! Charge it completely to 100% before using it.
- Still no signs of life? Then our technical team needs to take a look. To help us, please send us some clear photos of:
- The watch from several angles.
- The charging cable (the connectors on both ends).
Some Golden Tips
- Always use the original charger that came in the box. Other chargers may not provide the correct power.
- Try plugging the charger into another USB port on the wall or computer, in case the one you are using is faulty.
- Once it starts charging, leave it still on the table. Moving it can cause the magnetic contacts to detach.
