Installation and Initial Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your new SaveFamily watch and start using it with the official app.
Steps for Installation and Configuration
Step 1: Download the SaveFamily App
The app is available for free in the official stores:
- Google Play Store (for Android devices)
- Apple App Store (for iOS devices)
Step 2: Create an Account or Log In
Open the application. If it's your first time using it, register a new user with your email address. If you already have an account, just log in.
Step 3: Prepare the Watch
- Turn on the watch by pressing the side button for a few seconds.
- Ensure it has an active SIM card (nano-SIM size) with mobile data inserted.
- It is essential to disable the SIM card's PIN on another phone before inserting it into the watch.
Step 4: Scan the Watch's QR Code
In the app, tap the "Add Device" option or similar. To pair the watch, scan its unique QR code using your phone's camera. You can find this code:
- On the Strap: Attached to the buckle, secured with a zip tie and a cardboard holder.
- In the Watch Menu: You can also access the code from the watch itself. Look for and select the QR code icon in its menu. Entering this option will display the registration code on the screen to scan.
Step 5: Configure the Watch
Once paired, follow the instructions that appear in the application to complete the setup. During this process, you can:
- Assign a name to the device (e.g., "Maria's Watch").
- Create user profiles (define the role and nickname).
- Add the phone numbers of trusted contacts.
- Activate and configure basic functions like geolocation.
Tips for a Successful Setup
- Internet Connection: Ensure your mobile phone has an internet connection (Wi-Fi or data) throughout the process.
- App Permissions: The app will request necessary permissions, such as camera access to scan the QR code and location access for geolocation functions. Accept these permissions for full functionality.
- Scanning Issues: If you have difficulty scanning the physical QR code, use the option in the watch menu, as the screen usually provides a code that is easier for the camera to read.
